Welcome to Teresa Lyle Photography.
Teresa is a photographer from Northern Ireland. Her work focuses on mental illness exploring recovery and relapse. After being diagnosed with Dysthymia - a long-lasting form of depression. Teresa has set out to highlight the disorder that is rarely heard of and shine a light on the difficulties she endures.
Other works Teresa has completed challenge everyday injustices at the hands of political parties and raise awareness of these selfish acts.
Teresa has completed an MFA in Photography with Distinction at Ulster University.
Teresa is currently employed as a Digital Communications Officer at The Playhouse, Derry. Londonderry. In her role, Teresa supports The Playhouse to create a community, celebrate diversity, and empower people through the arts through content creation and digital storytelling. The Playhouse is an award-winning producing theatre, an empowering centre for learning, and a global leader in the arts and peaceful change.
Teresa also worked on the Our Scope Project as a tutor in collaboration with The Playhouse, Derry Londonderry. The project was developed to create a New Media Programme for delivery to youth in Derry. Londonderry. The project works in collaboration with international partners including groups from France, Italy, and Bulgaria.
She also works on the “Street Talk Programme” encouraging youth to use media to create videos addressing community concerns. As part of the Street Talk project, Teresa delivers workshops on still and video camera use and still and video editing software. These are designed to offer new skills and potential career choices for the young participants.
Teresa works in collaboration with Derry-based media professionals like ‘NoBigEgo Creative Agency’. She has produced video pieces for Enagh Youth Forum securing £35,000 in funding through digital storytelling for the newly developed Strathfoyle Greenway. Funding was also secured through youth-led content to secure disability upgrades to the Strathfoyle Playpark.
She has created work for the Northwest Regional College, working with Hair and Beauty students to create promotional materials for the Gothic Couture Fashion Show. Teaching students how to document their work and produce professional photoshoots for their portfolios. Including the design and production of marketing materials for their college shows.
